This is the best sushi I’ve had in Iowa–and easily compares with sushi in any major metropolitan area in this country. It’s a small restaurant, and cozy. The proprietor is really friendly, and if you’ve been there more than twice, he recognizes you and greets you. There’s really nothing on the menu that I haven’t liked; some highlights: the ikura (salmon roe); spicy scallops; hamachi; and most of the rolls. Great salads, and tempura, too. Reasonable for a sushi place, and well worth it. It’s so good that I’ve had a hard time trying any new restaurants in this area. And if you are inspired, you can shop for many Japanese (and other Asian) ingredients across the street at the New Oriental Food Store.
